FBA Offers - ON or OFF?FBA Offers – ON or OFF?

At FBAScout, we know that in addition to having access to proper pricing information, speed is vital to successful scouting. We have several systems in place to provide you with the best pricing data while keeping you moving fast.

FBAScout has the ability to show you the five lowest FBA offers for every item on Amazon. Compiling this information for items that have a high number of offers (typically books) can take a few seconds longer. For this reason, we give you the option to turn FBA offers ON or OFF.

When you have ‘Show FBA Offers: ON’, FBAScout will go to great lengths to give you FBA prices for an item. You will see the item details and five lowest used prices immediately. This information is often enough to determine if the item has the potential to be a winner. Items with very high numbers of offers (most often books) typically have too many FBA sellers who have driven the price down to a not-worth-your-time level. Train yourself to recognize these types of items so that you don’t waste time scouting items that are not profitable.

When you have ‘Show FBA Offers: OFF’, FBAScout will will only bring back the product details and the five lowest New prices and the five lowest Used prices. Depending on the item, you may also see some FBA offers. While having FBA offers turned off will provide faster results, you will not be aware of competitive FBA offers.

When you scan a book that has a high number of offers (such as this one with 2439!), it may take a little longer to return the full pricing picture that includes FBA offers.

This is the information that you will see immediately. It allows you to make a preliminary assessment of the item.

Because of the high number of offers and the five lowest used prices of $4.00 (penny books), this item likely has multiple FBA sellers who have driven the price down to a non-profitable level.

When you see the spinning gray bar at the bottom of the screen, that means that FBAScout is still gathering pricing information. You can wait on FBAScout to finish and show all prices, or you can move on and scan another item.

Here, we moved on and scanned another book. The last item, even though the pricing was incomplete, is removed from the screen. The pricing information for the previous item is still being gathered in the background.

When the pricing data for the previous item completes, you will see a small popup window alerting you that the detailed scouting result has saved.

To bring up the saved pricing data for the item, simply scan the item again to get instant results.

Here you can see that the price has been trashed. There is no profit in this item, even if you could acquire it for free.

Remember, you can use the total number of offers and the lowest five used prices as an accurate guide to which items have multiple FBA sellers selling at prices too low to compete against.
